Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum investment for an Investor KITAS?
The minimum investment plan for a PT PMA is IDR 10 billion (approximately USD 625,000) with minimum paid-up capital of IDR 10 billion per shareholder. Requirements vary by sector and KBLI codes selected for your business.
Can I work in other companies on an Investor KITAS?
No. The Investor KITAS is tied to your specific PT PMA. You can only work for the sponsoring company. If you have multiple businesses, each may require separate arrangements.
How long can I stay outside Indonesia?
You can leave and re-enter Indonesia freely with a valid KITAS. However, your Re-Entry Permit (MERP) must be valid. We typically arrange a multiple-exit re-entry permit so you can travel without restrictions.
Can I convert my Investor KITAS to KITAP?
Yes. After holding a KITAS consecutively for 3-5 years (depending on circumstances), you may apply for KITAP (permanent stay). Your company must remain compliant throughout this period.
Can I convert my Investor KITAS to permanent residency (KITAP)?
Yes, after holding an Investor KITAS for a consecutive period (typically 3-4 years), you can apply for KITAP (Kartu Izin Tinggal Tetap). Your PT PMA must remain in good standing with active NIB, current tax filings, and valid investment realization reports. We guide you through the KITAP conversion process, including the Indonesian language proficiency requirement.
